'Le Dignitaire' Musketeer - Granado Espada

Completed 2011

Both jacket and skirt are silk dupioni, flat lined with cotton drill. The jacket has a cropped bolero overlayer which is caught into the shoulder seams at the back, and the upper yoke at the front. Detailing on this garment is applique, handpainting, and beading. The skirt flares out from a high-waisted yoke, which fastens at center front with a zip. The ruffles at the necklien and sleeves are a cotton/silk blend with ribbon detail.

The bra worn under the garment is a halter-neck style in a polyester blend, with satin and ribbon detailing at the straps, and a decorative clasp over the collarbones.

The stockings are a shiny stretch lining, with the gold designs handpainted on. The upper band around the thigh is also hand painted, and these fasten to the skirt yoke with suspender straps.

The belt pieces and epaulette end pieces were sulpted, molded, and cast in Friendly Plastic/Polymorph Pellets. The main body of the epaulettes are styrene, with raised detailing added in EVA foam.
